Thanks to all that came to our concert on this Saturday June 23rd. We had a fantastic time playing for a great audience. We’ll be traveling during the next month, some of us to the Django Festival in France, and after that we’ll be doing some thinking on what to do next.
If you don’t want to miss the next big concert, like our promotion facebook page here.
“Gypsy Jazz, ‘Jazz Manouche’ in French, is a style of music that appeared in Paris in the 1930’s, with guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stéphane Grappelli. They formed the ‘Quintette du Hot Club de France’ and played Hot Jazz and Swing with this string quintet. Gypsy Jazz has experienced a revival in recent years, and I have been promoting the music in Belfast for the past 7 years.
I wanted to showcase the best Gypsy Jazz from Ireland, and decided to form a band with the greatest Gypsy Jazz musicians on the island: The Hot Strings Quartet. Music lovers will be delighted to hear the fantastic musicians that are Fintan, Rudy and Jose, and if the Swing is too strong to resist the dance-floor will be there to let it loose.
It is a rare opportunity that you must not miss! The Hot Strings Quartet hope to see you on June 23rd.”
